“I have learned that raising children is the single most difficult thing in the world to do. It takes hard work, love, luck, and a lot of energy, and is the most rewarding experience that you can ever have.” By Janet Reno
Many parents will identify with the view of parenting quoted above. It is not surprising therefore that a child with additional needs can leave parents feeling overwhelmed and in need of more skills and information.
Pictures to Ponder is part of Paul’s story. In spite of sustaining extensive and permanent brain damage when he was just two days old, he has been helped to create unique images of his favourite Bible people. These images have been recreated on a range of items which others have found help them to ponder.
In ‘Seeing Through Different Eyes’, Paul’s mother describes how it felt to be the parent of a child with special needs growing up in the 1980’s. She shares with the reader the places and people where she found the skills and information she needed. With hindsight she is able to tease out the important principles for making difficult decisions.
